Although movie was being built on a very famous Indian personality, yet movie cast is poor and screenplay is dull and uncatchy. No wonder why this Bollywood industry taking such a deep dive downwards. And, this movie is just another leap downward to this race. Although intent was good, but actor/actress, director need to be more professional and skillful. Waste of money and time, stay indore and enjoy quality. We can give this movie a big miss. My Verdict is .5 out of 100. .5 is for intent.
The film follows the career highs and lows of the former world no 1, India’s ace shuttler, Saina Nehwal. It also pays tribute to the people who immensely contribute to her resilience and unbreakable spirit. I think the film could have been more memorable.
This is a biopic movie. In this story Saina Nehwal is shown the story of her life as a badminton player. Director Amole Gupte directed this movie. He has tried to direct well enough. Parineeti Chopra has done quite well in the role of Saina. Coach Manav Kaul's performance is a great achievement. At the beginning of the story, Saina shows how to win a badminton game, then fights a lot and her parents take her to a coaching class. This movie is a must watch for those who like sports related movies.
The REEL LIFE presentation is as inspirational as the REAL LIFE character. Her journey from a small kid under the influence of her mother even when she was CARRYING, CARRIED forward the legacy and the CAREER of Saina when she grew up. She was SLAPPED on her Cheeks by her mother when she SLIPPED from WINNER to RUNNER. The same mother inspires her to come back, when she SLIPPED to break her ANKLE. SAINA comes BACK WITH A BAT to face the challenge with a “SAY NA” Attitude.
SAINA starts off showing a recent victory of Saina Nehwal and it’s a very unconventional way to start a film. The flashback portions are engaging and the scene where Usha Rani suggests to Saina to pick up a racquet lying down and start playing to win the confidence of the coaches sets the mood of the film. Another scene that brings a smile is when Saina discusses her diet with Rajan. Two scenes are sure to shock viewers in the first half – first, where Usha Rani slaps Saina for coming second, and Usha Devi’s sudden accident. But overall, the first half is mostly about Saina’s victories. It’s post interval when the conflicts actually take centre stage. Saina’s fallout with the coach is well executed. The climax match stands out as it’s turned into a nail-biting one. The film ends on a lovely note.
One of the dullest biopic ever made. Parineeti Chopra's acting stinks. It's horrible. She is a misfit. Plus story is very slow and boring. You can literally sleep while watching. Despite being a biopic it's a predictable plot. My advice don't waste your time & money on another Bollywood garbage. By this abhor methodology Bollywood will definitely collapse, might be very soon.
Just like PM Narendra Modi biopic which was done so awfully by the leading actor, the same legacy was carried by Parineeti Chopra. In fact she was so bad that she didn't even realize that she was traumatizing image of legend like Saina Nehwal. The story was average, direction and acting by leading actor was just bad. Manav Kaul was the only saving grace of the film but somewhere his role was compromised and given less screen time to satisfy ego of Miss Chopra.
I was completely blown away by the child actress who played Saina even though she had very less dialogue but she shines whenever she comes on screen. Parineeti should have prepared for the role, her performance wasn't convincing enough because there was only zoom shot of parineeti when she plays badminton and in long shot you can clearly see a body double who is playing the tricky shots and I don't know why Parineeti mole keep shifting place throughout the film. Amole Gupte direction is decent but the supporting cast was really really good especially Manav Kaul.
