Very weak movie. It's a bad ripoff of the original movie (1995 Govinda's coolie no 1) and Varun's overacting and Sarah's poor acting have killed the movie. Viewers are compelled to compare the movie to the original one and this one fails miserably. Even veterans like paresh Rawal and Javed Jaffri have done a sub standard job. The movie has tried to create a jazzed version of the original script but the story is exactly the same (with some extra punches that are again very badly written). Varun Dhawan must really look for meaningful movies if he wishes to have a bright Bollywood career Sarah Ali Khan may have a good career in the ramp or as a skincare model. She has made it apparent in this movie that Bollywood and acting are not for her.
One of the worst movies that i saw this year.. it looks like they wanted to remake Aliens with some space zombies, but did that in Asylum company's blockbusters way.. Bruce Willis now acting in some student level movies. This film basically offers nothing memorable or noteworthy, not even brainless action fun. A solid skip in my book. If it's on someone else's dime, perhaps it may be worth the time investment if you just need some background noise.
Funny and violent at the same time. Stories intersecting, overlapping leading to other stories. Stellar performances by all. Abhishek, one of India's most underrated actors, gives another flawless performance. Pray that someone gives him his due. Pankaj Tripathi, Anurag Basu, Siddharth Malhotra, Sanya, Fatima, the new faces of Uday, Asha, Pearle and Rohit. On point casting. Thank you Anurag for another masterpiece.
I go into this movie with high expectations, I just thought it would be passable. Immediately it was far worse. Most of the character designs are hideous. The writing is absolutely dreadful. The comedy is largely humour, and the jokes that aren't are still unoriginal. The soundtrack is grating. The voice acting is mostly average, the only compliment I can give is to Jane Lynch who seemed like she had a blast.
The story comes from a novel and then is a remake from an American movie, so not much has changed. But surely, it's a story filled by tragedy with glimpses of light hearted comedy. This movie has done justice to its thread. Acting - It's an emotional connect when it comes to the Shining Star Sushant. Wish this was not his last film. Sanjana has been impressive from her Rockstar days. A power start to her career. All other characters have been instrumental in their performances as well, the friend, the father, the mother and even the doctor.
