Anshul posted a review for Malang - Unleash The Madness in Movies
Malang was the movie that I was really looking forward to seeing in the theaters very much because of Mohit Suri's past endeavor with suspense thrillers(ek villian and murder 2) and the great intriguing ensemble attached to it.So very much the first scene I saw entering the theater was Aditya Roy Kapoor's back doing bulk of the talking, which was beautifully captured by the cinematographer and we are introduced to the" ruthless" Aditya Roy Kapoor for the first time in his career. The tempo with which the movie commenced was quite enticing.Very soon the other character's attached to story were established and revealed with complications they are going through.Anil Kapoor being a flipped cop fighting with inner demon's was absolutely marvellous and treat to watch on screen.Seeing,Kunal khemu as being the virtuous and convulated cop was something that was done with pure perfection and ease delivering one of the finest performance of his career.Disha patani as Sara was more than an eye candy this time around being a recklessly carefree in her approach and a complete delight to watch. But the real Trump card that stood out was Aditya Roy Kapoor as adavait,he was completely deceitful in a way ranging from being joyous and loveable to cold blooded and sadistic human you can imagine off. Screenplay was a bit lousy only on certain section keeping an account of Adavait and Sara's love story felt a bit lengthen up on the contrary to the high paced action sequences that were played on non linear pattern on screen ,other than that it was a valiant effort. Cinematography was just outstanding and beautifully captured keeping in mind the serenic beauty of Goa in sync with the raunchy night lifestyle.Editing was tightly executed keeping the tempo at the right scale on most occasions. But,the two aspects that really needs the special worth of mentioning was music( including background score too) and fighting choreography.Music was really soothing and refreshing keeping in mind the era of remake and corniest stuff we are presented with.Fighting sequences were perfectly staged and carved out which gave the scenes a more organic look. So guy's if you are planning to catch Malang this weekend or any time soon. Go ahead for it.... won't disappoint you.

Anshul posted a review for The Gentlemen in Movies
Funny, clever, gritty, funny, intelligent, entertaining, did I mention its funny? Like, really really funny? Hugh Grant in this was amazing, his quirky homosexual character had me dying! Like there is dialogue in this film between characters where the humor and wittiness just just doesn't stop, it's exhausting and at points I was to nervous to drink anything out of fear i may choke. The story is fantastic, the dialogue is great, and the film is surprisingly non complicated if you simply pay close attention, but it's genuinely easy to follow. I highly recommend, Guy Ritchie can be a genius. Great acting all round. At points it can feel a bit ridiculous., but it's not meant to be taken seriously sometimes. It's a fun film, and just very original. May offend some, the constant use of the word c#@t made a woman close to me tut throughout. Amazing characters, loved everything about it. How everything unfolds, where it leads to, it's just a cool ride that manages to keep you engrossed. It's got that typical Guy Ritchie style that we're used to at this point. If you like the guys movies, I'm sure you'll be impressed and leave the cinema with a smile. I look forward to going back to see it, I'm sure there's details I probably missed. As a film fan, it was great to kick of 2020 with this. The only movie I saw twice last year was Joker, glad I have found another one that I am hyped for seeing again! Go see it, and pack your sense of humor!!

Anshul posted a review for Panga in Movies
So, here comes yet another sports movie but with a message not just related to sports but otherwise. This Kangana starrer reminds you of Chak De India but lacks the energy that made Chak De more than a movie. The thing that goes most against the movie is its inherent predictability, which is amplified by revelation of some golden moments in the teaser itself, leaving very less in the movie for you to speculate. Jassi Gill's character as the supportive husband of the lead female protagonist has been reduced to being helpless, and totally dependent on his wife for daily chores. He has done justice to his role, although his character didn't need to be so weak to make the female protagonist stand out. Kangana's portrayal of struggles of a married women doesn't actually has much depth. The situations created to make her married life seem challenging doesn’t make it seem so hard. She acts good in most of the parts but in some scenes she could have better portrayed the conflicting emotions tearing her between family and ambitions. However, Richa Chadda is a perfect delight to watch, and seems to have completely sunk in her character. The little kid in the movie will surely win your hearts with his witty one liners. There has been an intention in the movie to romanticise the situations to evoke strong emotions and sympathy for the lead protagonist, who despite once being a leading sportsperson has been confined to the daily chores of her family, and who one day decides to take 'panga' to follow her passion again. The topic and message itself is so fascinating, that there actually wasn't any need for unnecessary melodrama. Nevertheless, the movie is worth a watch, especially for its progressive storyline. The second half of the movie gets things exciting as happens in every sports film, but again the predictability is there. The tension we felt in the final moments of Chak De India is missing. However, despite this, I did enjoy the movie. It's surely a good one time watch for the message it wants to convey.

Anshul posted a review for Street Dancer 3 in Movies
Movie is fun and absolutely fabulous - for dance lovers and followers of Dance Plus (Remo and team). This third installment of the ABCD movies is the best of the lot in terms of story line, acting, screenplay and direction. The entire team including director #RemoDSouza is more confident in their performances. The dancing is totally another level of perfection and icing on the cake are Prabhu Deva’s dance sequences. I was pretty disappointed with Varun and Shraddha's addition in ABCD 2 as it took away from the core of the dance theme and Remo tried to bring in star power. However, I have to really applaud #VarunDhawan and #ShraddhaKapoor for doing a much better job in this one. Each set is choreographed better than the other and post interval it i practically one dance sequence after the other. For me that was thrilling but if you can't sit through back to back dancing, then this movie isn't for you. I loved watching Sushi, Vartika, 13point13, Popping Ticko who are the among the new additions to the crew. #Dharmesh and #Raghav were fun as usual. #PuneetPathak 's performances have always been good and he impresses this time too. The performances in the semi finals and finals of the Dance Competition in the movie were edge of the seat and gave me an emotional high.

Anshul posted a review for 1917 in Movies
1917 Directed by Sam Mendes has already won the Golden Globe for The Best Motion Picture and The Best Director and this movie is nothing less than a war classic. It has a familiar battle background of Saving Private Ryan but the conviction and the depth ,on the top the effect of having the entire movie done in one shot....makes it a marvel. I don't say this often, if you are going for a movie this month, make it this one... It is going to give you a life time's experience. The editing is done in a way to make you feel the entire movie is just one shot... I kept my eyes hooked to see where exactly the director would have said "cut" . All I could do is just awe about everything I saw on screen. Intensely stark performances from the leads , the swift of the script keeps you so engaged that you would feel it on your legs...when Will is tired. George MacKay (Will) has simply become one of my favorite actors. He snatched my heart and blew my mind as he was crawling out of the treacherous battle grounds with a hope to save 1600 men if he could deliver message on time. In the ghastly bleak background of World War 1, two soldiers Will and Tom are assigned to deliver a message and there the movie begins...Dean-Charles Chapman plays Tom brilliantly and you would root for him from the very first scene... Their journey through the war ruins is captured brutally real by Roger Deakins ; it's gonna stay with me for a long time. There are mind blowing scenes and one of these scenes, I would say the best scene I have seen lately in any movie, is inside an army truck as Will sits with a few fellow soldiers who are engaged in a conversation and the camera roughly stays focused on Will...You wouldn't want to listen to what the others are talking about... you wouldn't even want to see their faces because you cannot take your eyes off Will. I remember talking a lot about the magic of camera after watching Birdman which had long long single shots but 1917 is an exceptional movie that you shouldn't miss. I'm going for an overwhelmed 4 stars hoping it grabs a few Oscars.
